The title of this section, and of my eventual book, Everything Is A Song, transpired over a lifetime of twisting popular songs around to correspond to daily events.  In my day-to-day experience, I've discovered that most phrases that come out of people's mouths can be quickly turned into a popular song just by changing the lyrics a little bit to match what the person said.  It turned out that my friends and I do this so often, we started an inside joke, "everything is a song".

The book, and this section of k2k9.com, is a collection of memoir-like essays.*  Some are true, some are fictional, some are exaggerated truth.

*Some essays began as actual emails written by me to family and friends (who shall remain anonymous)  during the mid-1980s.  We had email before the rest of the world had it, and were forward-thinking enough to save the communications I'd written during that time.  Changes have been made to translate these emails into readable essays for "Everything Is A Song".  In an effort to preserve original  content, mild profanity and oftentimes profound emotions are expressed.  The reader's tolerance is appreciated.
